Fashion-art photography series for Kimono Koto
For Kimono Koto, garment, graphic and gesture share equal billing. Models in dark, contemporary kimono-inspired garments wear bold red and white face paint and strike sculptural poses. The photographs are layered into graphic compositions with Japanese characters, striped circles, a torii gate, neon-style lettering and preorder banners in orange, black and white.
Timo Blanksma combined photography and art direction to merge image and design into a single visual language. The series comprises 14 stills and 1 film, built for preorder communication, social and the brand's own channels, where the bold orange and black palette makes every post instantly recognisable.
